Welcome to my website. My name is Chad Sedlak and I truly look forward to helping you with your nutrition and fitness needs, but first a little bit about me and my “why’s”.
“Chad, you have knees of someone much older than the age of 40.” I smile, shake my head a little bit and look down at the pair of joints that ache with every step I take. I was informed from the doctor that it would be a good idea to stop playing the sports that had become a part of my life, such as volleyball and softball. That these sports were doing nothing but increasing my chances (quickly) for the need to have knee replacement surgery. That I did not want.
As I left the doctors office I didn’t think about the sports I’d be missing, I didn’t wonder what I was going to do with myself or how I was going to fill the blocks of time that used to be my game-time. I thought about my wife and our future family, as we hope to have children some day. I thought to myself that if I didn’t make changes how would I ever be a part of their lives and their growing up?
I took a break from sports....and I had myself convinced that I was doing the right thing. I didn't take part in any exercise...unfortunately my eating habits turned south. I found myself looking down at the scale and it telling me I was 215lbs. shockingly I had quickly added an additional 20lbs to my frame and deteriorating knees in a relatively short time. I had to do something....I had to make a change.
I had P90X sitting on my shelf. I knew from the infomercials this was the program that was going to turn my health and fitness level around. I contemplated starting the program, every Monday in fact and I found reasons or excuses not to. In the condition my knees were in and the the weight just piling on I just didn't feel comfortable with starting the exercise portion just yet. I decided instead to begin with the nutrition portion of P90X. I watched my calorie intake, watched the portions and the percentages and I admit it was rather eye-opening to see where the calories where coming from and how poor my nutrition was in the first place. From that point on my wife and I have been eating healthier than we ever have and the changes did come. That was almost year ago.
As of eight months ago I was able to start P90X Classic with a Challenge group and the results have been nothing short of amazing. After finishing P90X, I decided to give Insanity Asylum a try and then back the that up with a round P90X2. This morning the scale had informed me that my current weight is 175lbs with about 10% Body fat, I can’t believe how good I feel AND better yet no more knee pain.
